Allied's commitment to Training and Development
Allied are fully committed to training and development. We have achieved and maintained the Investors in People standard for over 5 years.
We have sophisticated I.T. systems that allow us to create individual training plans, at day 1 of employment. These training plans are used for internal mentoring and external specialist training that is a key element of the development of our people.
Our site teams have fully qualified Lead Hand Scaffolders with S.S.S.T.S and C.I.S.R.S. cards, and we ensure they have all the skills, information, and tools they need to do the job efficiently and safely.
Allied have a very pro-active apprenticeship programme, and are currently recruiting scaffolding apprentices, and management trainees. We train operatives from apprentice level right through to Advanced Scaffolder level - the highest level of craft training. The majority of managers at Allied are also craft experienced. All operatives and managers hold the relevant C.I.S.R.S. / C.S.C.S. card and 5 day site managers course (e.g. IOSH).
All external training is carried out by professional training bodies, and internal training is given by competent persons. Competency and progress reviews are carried out with all operatives. Allied can therefore choose the right operatives for each job, based on the competencies required to carry out the project e.g. temporary roofs or work in confined spaces.
